It's not exactly Les Deux Magots and Hemingway certainly never would have chosen to write here, but it does well enough for me for today's purposes.
After an early morning doctor's appointment that got me up and out of the house, I've planted myself at a Starbucks for a couple of hours to do a little writing, fortify myself with breakfast and a venti quad latte, and await the opening of an Apple store at a local mall. I need to buy a screen protector for my new iPhone (I thought I could get away with not having one, but I'll be pissed off if [when?] it gets scratched). And as long as I'm out and about today in the vicinity of other stores, I'll run a few addiitonal errands as well.
I'd hoped to get the car smogged today, but while I remembered to take the address of the service station (and a coupon!) with me, I forgot the registration paperwork at home. Naturally. Always put off untll tonmorrow what you can do today. Turns out they prefer you to make an appointment in advance anyway, a fact I've just discovered after making a call, so I've done that, at least. For when? Tomorrow ...
I'm not always a model of efficiency.
